Once known as British Honduras, this former crown colony, the only country in Central America with English as its primary language, is small and very sparsely populated but offers many special places to visit. Some of the finest Mayan ruins are found in Belize, and the Belize Barrier Reef is the second largest reef in the world. Come for snorkeling, scuba, or a chance to swim with whale sharks.
